Above Ramganga Confluence

The geographical extent of the Above Ramganga Confluence sub-basin lies between 77 47' to 80 15' east longitudes and 27 12' to 31 28' north latitudes of the country. This sub-basin contains the main rivers like the Bhagirathi, the Alaknanda and other small rivers like the Nayar, the Song, and the Pinder. These all rivers meet to form the main the Ganga river in this sub-basin. The sub-basin has a total catchment area of 39104 Sq.km. It drains into the states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and parts of Himachal Pradesh. This sub-basin contains the major dam like Tehri dam, Koteshwar dam and Maneri dam.
