Many important concepts of modern hydrology are contained in the ancient Indian literature. Bearing this in mind, the institute has published a report entitled "Hydrology in Ancient India" by compiling information related to hydrology available in various version of Vedas, Purans and other ancient Indian Works. The institute is in the process of finalising a Hindi version of same.

Institute has also published "Developments of Hydrology in India since Independence" covering twenty potential areas related to hydrology on which the development has taken place.
